From Glauber’s Salt to Green Manufacturing: A Technology-Driven Breakthrough

Located along the Qingyi River in Hongya, Sichuan, our companyestablished in 2001has been transforming from a traditional resource-based enterprise into a modern chemical manufacturer through continuous technological innovation and management upgrades. As a critical link in the global sodium sulfate decahydrate supply chain, we understand our responsibility: to deliver high-quality anhydrous sodium sulfate while meeting international expectations on environmental performance, energy efficiency and sustainable development.

Leveraging the regions abundant natural mirabilite resources, we built a fully integrated value chainfrom mining to deep processing. But resource endowment was only the starting point. In 2016, after assessing long-term industry trends, we invested RMB 170 million in a bold coal-to-electricity upgrade, implementing MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) evaporation to replace traditional coal-fired processes.

The decision carried risks at the time, but we believed that only by upgrading our technology could we maintain competitiveness under increasingly stringent environmental regulations.

Two years of intensive engineering efforts resulted in Chinas first zero-emission sodium sulfate production line. Product purity improved from 99.2% to above 99.5%, while unit cost dropped by 50 RMB per tonne. This breakthrough not only strengthened product competitiveness but laid a solid foundation for entering the global high-end market.

A Global Stage: Refining Quality in Collaboration with Fortune Global 500 Partners

Throughout more than two decades of development, we have upheld a firm belief: quality is the lifeline of an enterprise. With a robust quality management system in place, our sodium sulfate products have earned the trust of world-renowned companies including Sinar Mas Group, Unilever, and P&G. Their stringent requirements for raw-material consistency consistently push us to elevate our quality standards.

Our cooperation with global textile manufacturers is particularly representative. As their designated supplier of low-chloride sodium sulfate used in dyeing and printing auxiliaries, our products maintain stable purity, fast dissolution and outstanding consistency—meeting strict requirements in premium textile production. This level of partnership fully demonstrates that Chinese manufacturing is capable of achieving world-class quality standards.

The Power of Systems: Building a Management Engine for Continuous Evolution

Through years of accumulation, we have established a comprehensive production management and quality assurance system. From raw-material extraction to final packaging, every stage is subject to strict process control. Today, we are certified under ISO9001 (Quality Management) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management), and have built a provincial-level enterprise technology center.

We implement a Chief Engineer Responsibility System, where the Chief Engineer oversees R&D, process optimization and quality management. We have also adopted digital management frameworks inspired by leading global enterprises, enabling real-time monitoring and analysis of production data across the entire process. These practices ensure stable, reproducible product quality across all production lines.

Looking Forward: Expanding toward the New Frontier of Advanced Materials

Looking ahead, we remain committed to the principle of technology-driven development, continuing our long-term journey in green chemical manufacturing and global operations.

We will further optimize energy structure and increase the proportion of clean energy use—aiming to reduce carbon intensity significantly by 2028, in alignment with China’s dual-carbon strategy. At the same time, we are strengthening joint R&D efforts with international customers to develop more competitive specialty sodium sulfate grades, enabling deeper penetration into high-value downstream markets.

Intelligent manufacturing upgrades remain a key priority. By introducing advanced equipment and optimizing production flows, we will continue improving operational efficiency and product consistency.

With the trust of global partners and our unwavering focus on quality and sustainability, Qingyijiang Sodium Sulfate is steadily expanding its international footprint and becoming a benchmark of China’s green chemical transformation.
